Data Deletion

TeleNav does not operate a central file backend. Most deletion must be done by you on your device and in your Telegram account.

1. Important Deletion Notice

TeleNav cannot remotely delete files from your phone or Telegram account because we do not control your device, your vault key, or your Telegram account.

If you want to stop using TeleNav, follow the steps below for local app data, Telegram-stored encrypted files, recovery kits, and support messages.

2. Delete Local App Data

  1. Open TeleNav and use any available in-app factory reset or vault reset option if present.
  2. On Android, open Settings, Apps, TeleNav, Storage, then select Clear storage or Clear data.
  3. Uninstall TeleNav after clearing storage if you no longer want the app on the device.
  4. Delete any exported plaintext files, temporary downloads, screenshots, recovery kits, or backups that you saved outside the app.

Android menu names vary by device. Clearing storage should remove app-local vault data, TDLib folders, settings, upload queue state, and temporary cache on that device.

3. Delete Telegram-Stored Encrypted Files

TeleNav stores encrypted chunks and encrypted manifests in your Telegram account, usually in Saved Messages or a private destination you selected.

  1. Open Telegram with the same account used by TeleNav.
  2. Search Saved Messages or the destination chat/channel for TeleNav manifests, chunks, or uploaded documents.
  3. Delete the related messages and documents from Telegram.
  4. Confirm whether Telegram offers deletion for both sides, cloud deletion, or local-only deletion, and choose the option that matches your intent.

Telegram controls Telegram retention, backups, and deletion behavior. Review Telegram's own help and policies for details.

4. Delete Recovery Kits and Backups

If you exported a TeleNav recovery kit, delete every copy you created from your phone, computer, cloud drive, email, password manager, USB drive, and other backup locations. Anyone with recovery material and the relevant password may be able to recover access to encrypted TeleNav data.

5. Delete Support Messages

If you contacted us by email, you may request deletion of support messages that we control, subject to lawful retention needs such as security, dispute handling, abuse prevention, and legal obligations.

6. What We Cannot Delete

We cannot delete data controlled by Telegram, your device manufacturer, your operating system, your browser, your backups, your cloud provider, your email provider, or any third party you used to store, send, or back up TeleNav-related data.

7. Before You Delete

Deletion may be permanent. If you delete local vault data, recovery kits, and Telegram messages, your encrypted files may become unrecoverable. Make sure you have exported any files you still need before deleting.
